Select your preferred measurement mode from the sidebar (Click & Drag or Preset Radius).
If using Preset Radius mode, adjust the radius slider to your desired value.
Choose your preferred distance unit (kilometers, meters, miles, or feet).
For Click & Drag mode: Click on the map to set the center point, then drag to define the radius.
For Preset Radius mode: Simply click on the map to place a circle with your preset radius.
View the measurement details in the results panel, including center coordinates, radius, and area.
Use the copy button to copy the measurement data to your clipboard.
To create multiple radius measurements, simply repeat the process at different locations.
Determine what points of interest are within a specific distance from a location, such as restaurants, schools, or parks within walking distance.
Plan coverage areas for wireless networks, delivery services, or emergency response teams to ensure adequate service within a specific radius.
Analyze properties within a certain distance from key amenities, transportation hubs, or workplaces to assist with home buying or rental decisions.
Urban planners and engineers measure radius distances to assess transit coverage, walking access, bike-share placement, and transportation equity across neighborhoods.
Our radius measurements account for the Earth's curvature using the haversine formula, providing accurate measurements even over large distances. For most practical purposes, the accuracy is within 0.1-0.5% depending on the size of the radius and the latitude. At the equator, a 1 km radius is accurate to within a few meters.
Yes! You can create multiple radius measurements on the same map. Each measurement will be saved in the history panel, allowing you to compare different radii or analyze multiple locations simultaneously. This is particularly useful for coverage analysis or comparing different scenarios.
The "Click & Drag" mode allows you to visually define the radius by clicking to set a center point and then dragging to set the desired radius. This is useful when you want to visually determine the radius based on map features. The "Preset Radius" mode lets you specify an exact radius value and then simply click on the map to place a circle with that radius. This is useful when you need precise, consistent measurements.
Currently, you can copy the measurement details to your clipboard using the copy button. We're working on adding functionality to export measurements in various formats (CSV, GeoJSON, KML) and to save measurements for future reference. For now, we recommend copying the data to your preferred application for storage or further analysis.
